Euro Symbol and ANSI fileformat

Have the same problem with saving to ANSI format and reloading ?
Using current version WPT5 and WPT6. Same result.

Any solution ?

if You insert this code (line 199) in WPIOANSI.PAS it will work

The problem is not the reader but the ANSI-Writer which writes out character $AC instead of $80 for the euro symbol. Where do I change this please ?

Hi,

In my tests it wrote #128. (V5.54 and V6.10)

You can uncomment the

function TWPTextWriter.WriteChar(aChar : WideChar) : Boolean;

in WPIOANSI to modify the character.

Thanks you Julian. Uncommenting WriteChar and hardcoding a translation from char 172 to 128 worked. Still curious why a euro symbol is sometimes saved as letter 172. codepage is 1252.
