Are there any royalties for the distributed applications ? No, there are no royalties - as long as your application is not a development tool of any kind and all developers working in the project are fully licensed. If you are using WPTools in a package all developers which use this package implizitely must have a development license. The best is to get the SITE license which is valid for up to 20 developers, or the TEAM license which is valid for up to 6 developers. The same applies if your project is some kind of "reporting module" which is used by other developers of your company.
Is the source code included ? The standard version includes most of the source code, about 70%. The 'RTF-Engine' is not included, unless you purchase the 'PRO' version (units WPRTEDefs, WPRTEPaint). The source code for 'WPReporter' is included in the 'Bundle' or 'PRO-Bundle'.
What's the difference between the Standard and the PRO version ? The PRO version includes 100% pascal sourcecode.
Does WPTools import DOC files ? Yes and no - WPTools does not contain a 'native' DOC import filter - but it contains a unit to use the converter DLLs installed on WindowsXP and by any Word(tm) application. They can be used to load a DOC files which are then converted to RTF. Apart from that, RTF files written by Word can be opened in WPTools, providing that features not supported by WPTools (frames, columns, some images types) are not used.
Do I have to pay for support ? We have a customer support newsgroup, which is maintained regularly. Support is also provided through e-mail. You can give us a call (Central European Time), but usually e-mail support is much more efficient. Usually there is no charge for support, unless you have a very large number of questions and requests (>30).
You may also hire our expertise directly. Such contracts can usually be fulfilled within a few hours, keeping your cost under US$ 300. Ask for a free quote.
Upgrade costs ? Minor upgrades are free. Usually there is only a major upgrade every two years (and not every year as the usual practice appears to be).
