WPDBGrid a data sensitive grid for FireMonkey

WPDBGrid - a data sensitive version of the standard Firemonkey grid.

Attach it to a data source to instantly see the contained data. It is possible to use the runtime/designtime columns designer to customize the view.

To download please register as user on this forum and, in your user account management area, enter the group "FireMonkey".

We will inform members of this group when there are new Firemonkey components available from WPCubed via e-mail.

Of course you can enter and leave the group anytime and there are no costs.

Good morning.
I have been able to test the component and if you link the grid with a TbinNavigator it does not work correctly, the rows do not skip correctly.
Any suggestions?

The grid should be linked to a TDatasource.

Hi, thanks for answering. Yes, of course, that without problem. And how do you connect the navidator to move through the rows and columns of the Grid? That component is the one that does not work well with the Grid.

Hi, thanks for the component, it works just fine.

There are only 2 questions left:

1) Is there a way to align the column header captions?

2) When I use the “Load all fields” option from the popup menu I do get the right number of columns in the WPDBGrid component, but their types may not match the datatype in the used datasource (say StringColumn instead of FloatColumn). And I can’t figure out how to change the datatype in the Columns Editor. Any workarounds for this?

1) This is a standard TGrid and uses TColumn. I may be mistaken, but I see no way to configure the header in the TColumn.

2) Yes, this function would be nice to have but I did not have time to implement it.

Hi,

I've got an app where image data is stored in a blob field of a FDMemTable (received via a tethering stream from a Firebird database) and I can load this data into an TImage component. But when I try to add an ImageColumn to WPDBGrid to display that data I get the "Invalid variant type conversion" error at runtime. Any hints?

I think the ImageColumn does not recognize the blob data because is generic and typeless.

I recommend to add event handler to the dataset to load the image object in code, OnScroll would be a good place.

Sorry, but i can’t figure out how to do that.

Should I set an individual value for a cell? If yes, then how?

Or should I add a new field to my FDMemTable and then convert the blob data to something else? If so, what data type should I use for the new field in order the data to be displayed correctly in the WPDBGrid component, ftGraphic?

I’ve tried both options, with no result.

Any advice would be helpful, thanks in advance.

I am very new to Rad Studio 10.3 and I compile and install the package. But the package is not in the palette. The bpl file is in the library path. What obvious thing did I not do?
