Problem using TDBWPRichText

WPTools 6.08, Delphi 2006

I have a form, dropped a TDBWPRichText on it. The user can call the DefaultEditor for advanced etiting. I use this code:

   editor := TWPToolsEditor.Create(nil);
   editor.WPRichText1.AsString := frmRezeptList.dsRezept.DataSet.FieldByName(
    'ANLEITUNG').AsString;
   editor.ShowModal;
   frmRezeptList.dsRezept.DataSet.FieldByName(
    'ANLEITUNG').AsString:=editor.WPRichText1.AsANSIString('RTF');
   editor.Close;
   editor.Free;
   editor:=Nil;
end;

However, the TDBWPRichText shows the text with all rtf-codes. Calling the editor again, displays the text formatted correctly.

The TDBWPRichText is set to wplayFullLayout.

What am I missing?

Ah! It makes a differenze, if TField is a TStringField (does not work) or a TMemoField (works)

Why?

That´s not the point. Same code, same data. Works if it is TMemoField, works not if it is TStringField. What am I missing?
