Cut & Paste of Highlighted Text from Richtext to MS Word

Hi

XP Pro (SP3) + MS Office 2003 (SP3)
BCB6 + WPTools 6.0

There seems to be a problem with cutting a RichText block with any Highlights(shading) from WPRichText or WPDBRichText and pasting it into MS Word 2003 (SP3). The shading won't be there in MS Word !?
It works fine if you try cutting a similar Text block from MS Word and pasting it into the WPRichText.
Would this be a setting for WpTools RichText component or a Bug in the windows Clipboard?

Thanks

Hi,

You are right. While paragraph colors are transfered, character backgrounds are not.

It seems so Word is ognoring the RTF \cb command. No Idea why.

Please define the compiler symbol
WRITEHIGHLIGHT

It should work with it. (Do a build all)

Thanks, it is good to know that we did not leave out any setting for the WPDBRichText object but I don't quite follow. If the feature is broken in Word how come when I copy a Highlighted text in Word and paste it back into Word it does not have any problem.

Also what is the significance of WRITEHIGHLIGHT compiler flag and what will it activate after the full build?

Thanks

Hi,

WPTools uses \cb for the background color. In contrast to \highlight it can also be swiched off. I don't know why Word dos not support \cb.

WRITEHIGHLIGHT can only be activaed when building the application.

Next release will also habe the -writehighlight format option

Hi

Still not sure I can get this, I included WRITEHIGHLIGHT as a compilation flag and there was no impact. And if it is not broken why do I have to wait until next release?
