Loosing bullets and format with Edit Fields

Hi Julian,

This is a strange one. If I have something like the following in my document (where "<<" and ">>" are the openning and closing markers of the edit field):

<< Text, text, text, text, text:

a) Text, text text, text;
b) Text text text;
c) Text.>>

when I save the document and load it again I get the following:

<< Text, text, text, text, text:

a) Text, text text, text;
b) Text text text;
Text.>>

The last bullet is lost when the document is saved. If the document is like the following, there's no problem:

<< Text, text, text, text, text:

a) Text, text text, text;
b) Text text text;
c) Text.

But my users are complaining because they don't want to create the extra paragraph sometimes. Can you help me?
I use WPTools version 5.43. The documents use the ProtectedProp = ppAllExceptForEditFields and the edit fields are created using InputEditField function. The document is saved using the SaveToFile(FileName, false, 'RTF') function.

My other problem is more tricky. Sometimes a few paragraphs simply loose its style and is saved with font Arial size 10. Even in protected parts of the document. I have no clue for what causes this behavior.

Hi,

Are you loading the document including the text or just the text inside the fields?

In the first case it should work, at least here with a quick test with mertge fields.

In the latter case it must be checked if the text read FROM the field still contains the numbers or if it is lost when inserting it.

Hi Julian,

I'm loading the entire document using LoadFromFile(FileName, true, 'RTF'). But the problem is saving, sice the bullet is gone even if I open the document in another editor.

Hi,

If I get an example project which shows it I can fix it for You. In the intended use it works.

Julian,

Unfortunately I can't send you a example project but it's possible to verify the problem using the "Mini" editor demo that comes with my version of WPTools. Just load the Test.wpt file I send you and save it as .rtf, when you load it again (in any editor) the "d)" bullet is gone.
I also downloaded WPTool 6 Mini.exe demo and got the same results.

Hi,

I the d bullet on the last line? It is lknwon that when there is no \pöar at the end paragraph attributes are not used.

You can merge in WPT format.
