I'd like to design my own simple electronic Christmas cards. I'd like to have an ani-gif as background for some text, and then email the result to people with some personalisation using mailmerge. Is this possible and if so how?

Hi,
I would use mailmerge to create the HTML text which changes. The reso of the mail should be fixed code with a placeholder for the merged text. This way You can use any design.
When you save the HTML text use 'HTML-onlybody' as format string to avoid the extra header data.

Mailmerge - no problem that's how I do my emails now. Its how do I do a background image that baffles me. Do I need to create the html outside of WPTools or is there a better way?

Hi,
Thanks - that was caused by the "as" operator. The JPEG units did not match.
The background is displayes in the PaintWatermark event. It is not possible to paint an animation there.
The support for Ani Gifs I developed a while ago expects that the gif is located in a rectangle on top of the page.
